This is S-CUT!
S-CUT was developed by experienced rescue professionals to meet the demands of emergency and pre-hospital care. The first version of S-CUT was created specifically for rescue and ambulance personnel operating in critical, time-sensitive situations.
In accidents and cases of cardiac arrest, rapid removal of clothing is essential to enable life-saving interventions. With S-CUT readily available, the time required to remove clothing can be reduced significantly.
S-CUT cuts through a leather jacket, a pair of jeans, or heavy boots in just seconds—without any risk of causing cuts or injuries to either the patient or the rescuer.
The cutting blade is extremely sharp yet does not rotate during cutting, ensuring maximum control and safety. With a simple hand movement, the blade can be rotated. Each blade features five razor-sharp cutting zones of the edge. Once all zones have been used, the blade can be replaced quickly and easily—without the need for any tools.
Proven performance in trauma care
S-CUT has been tested by several emergency departments and was found to perform significantly better than traditional scissors when handling trauma patients.
Clinical evaluations showed that clothing removal time—such as in motorcycle accidents—could be reduced by several minutes, without any risk of injuring the patient. Those critical minutes can make a decisive difference in emergency care.
CBRNE
The Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) and The Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency / Civil Defence Agency (MSB / CFS) recommend early removal of clothing without pulling it over the head during life-saving decontamination procedures. This should be done before or at the same time flushing the person.
With S-CUT, clothing can be cut away quickly, simple and safely, even while wearing heavy protective gloves, regardless of whether you use your right or left hand. For ambulatory patients, it is often sufficient to make a single cut along the back from the collar downward—after which the clothing can be folded forward and removed with minimal handling.
Cardiac arrest – Faster time to defibrillation
A study conducted at the CPR Centre in Gothenburg, demonstrated that treatment with a defibrillator could be initiated faster when using S-CUT compared to standard scissors.
The study was authored by Johan Herlitz and Solveig Aune and published in the American Journal of Emergency Medicine in January 2010.

More areas of use
It quickly became clear that S-CUT had far more applications beyond emergency medicine, particularly in equine handling.
This led to the development of S-CUT XC-E, designed specifically for professionals who work with horses on a daily basis. The XC-E model features a cutting gap that is twice as wide as other models.
A horse entangled in ropes, leather straps, or a halter can panic and severely injure itself while trying to break free. With XC-E, materials can be cut quickly and safely, without risk of harming the animal.
A versatile all-round tool
The S-CUT XC-E is also an excellent all-purpose cutting tool with a wide range of applications. In construction and landscaping work, for example, cutting geotextile fabric becomes fast and effortless—even through multiple layers. Since you can rotate the blade when it becomes dull, you always have a sharp tool, each blade has five cutting surfaces. Like other S-CUT models, XC-E features a replaceable cutting blade and is available in three standard colours
S-CUT QE is made of composite and is available in two standard colors but the blade cannot be changed.
